We are the only Clinic in Wales that provides a regular weekly private children’s ultrasound service from the children aged 28 days onwards.
Ultrasound is a safe and excellent way to diagnose many pediatric conditions and is often the first-line test.

Dr Thomas Micic

Acorn’s pediatric radiology service is led by Dr. Thomas Micic.
Dr. Micic is an accomplished pediatric consultant radiologist who provides a tertiary level specialist service at the Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff and the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. Dr. Micic is actively involved in teaching and research and leads the training for pediatric radiology at the National Imaging Academy of Wales.

How do I prepare?
Please dress the child appropriately to allow for easy access to the body part/joint being examined with ultrasound. For young children, please bring a toy that can help distract them during the scan.
