Dr Junaid is the founder and Medical Director of Acorn Private Clinic in Penarth and Cowbridge, serving Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. A consultant radiologist with international training and award-winning clinical work, he leads our ultrasound, MRI and image-guided procedure services.
Meet Dr Junaid
Dr Junaid is a specialist consultant radiologist with expertise across all aspects of General, Musculoskeletal and Sports imaging diagnosis and image-guided intervention. He works across ultrasound, MRI, CT, X-ray and nuclear medicine.
He completed his medical training at Imperial College London with Distinctions, followed by radiology training in South Wales where he specialised in Musculoskeletal and Sports imaging. He then completed a further specialist fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London — the UK's largest tertiary musculoskeletal and sarcoma referral centre.
He has won multiple international awards for his work in Radiology and holds particular expertise in complex ultrasound and CT-guided procedures. Outside of Acorn, he is a full-time NHS consultant at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
Dr Junaid is also a keen educator and researcher. He has trained hundreds of doctors and health professionals, is an Honorary Research Associate at Swansea University with published peer-reviewed work, and is the founder of RadiologySeminars.co.uk — one of the UK's largest and most respected radiology education platforms.

Book directly online or call 029 2199 9300. No GP referral required — you can self-refer. Most patients are seen within the same week at our Penarth or Cowbridge clinics.
What does an ultrasound scan with Dr Junaid cost?
Standard private ultrasound scans start from £260. Guided injection therapy is from £350. MRI scans are from £435. All consultant-performed with written report included. Full price list available here.
Where will I see Dr Junaid?
At our Penarth clinic (13 Washington Buildings, Stanwell Road, CF64 2AD) — just outside Cardiff with free street parking. Selected services are also available at our Cowbridge clinic (10 High St, CF71 7AG).
