How much is the Nutritional Health test?
£237 all inclusive. That covers the appointment, all 48 markers across the nine panels, and a plain-English report emailed to you. A £50 deposit secures your appointment and comes off the total.
What does the test cover?
Nine areas in one appointment: a full blood count, a dedicated nutritional panel (including vitamin D, B12, folate, zinc and magnesium), iron status, liver health, thyroid health, heart and cholesterol markers, diabetes markers, plus digestive and pancreatic checks. That is 48 markers in total. You can see the full list, panel by panel, in the section above.
What makes this different from a basic vitamin test?
A basic test tells you a vitamin is low. This one is built to show why. By checking your gut, liver and thyroid alongside your vitamin and mineral levels, it can point to what might be behind a deficiency, which our nutritionist designed it specifically to do.
Do I need to fast before the test?
Yes, we recommend fasting for 10 to 12 hours beforehand, with plain water only, because the glucose and cholesterol markers are affected by a recent meal. A morning appointment makes this easiest. Keep taking any regular medication as normal unless your own doctor has said otherwise.
How quickly will I get my results?
Usually within about 48 hours. Your report groups all 48 markers by panel, each with its reference range, and flags anything outside the normal range. We will confirm timing when you book.
Is this a good general health check too?
Yes. Although it is built around nutrition, the panels for blood count, liver, thyroid, heart, diabetes and iron make it a broad picture of your overall health, which is why many people book it as a thorough once-a-year check.
Who designed the panel?
Our in-house nutritionist selected the markers, choosing them to capture both your current nutritional status and the other factors that can cause or signal poor nutrition. It is not a generic off-the-shelf profile.

Where is the blood taken?
At our Penarth clinic (13 Washington Buildings, CF64 2AD) or our Cowbridge clinic (10 High Street, CF71 7AG). Both are a short drive from Cardiff with easy parking.
I have difficult veins. Can you still take blood?
Yes. Our consultant radiologists can take the sample under real-time ultrasound, the only such service in South Wales. Mention it when you book so we can allow time.
